And the Sky Didn’t Crumble

Midlife Magic Maven

So I made the decision to be raw and naughty and real. And I made the decision to spill myself out into the arena.
I think that can be interpreted as ‘being vulnerable’.

And the sky didn’t crumble. And I didn’t get death threats.

I didn’t get set upon by boo’s and hate mail and indignant notes of disgust.

Actually I got a few laughs from those who ‘got it’. Those who didn’t read every single frigging word and phrase as literal fact.

I’m a metaphor maven. I’m sure the world will get used to it.

You know you get to a point in your life where you just want to say “I don’t give a frig what people say”, but secretly you do. Of course you do. You’re a human. Wired for fight or flight or freeze. A primal machine geared for survival.

Can we end ‘survival’ and flirt with ‘thrival’.

(New word, you heard it here first 😏).

Rant over.   What have you done lately to break the mould of the old?

I’d love to hear

Love Dawn

  1. On our birthdays, some of my friends and I set a “theme” (intention) for the upcoming year (along the lines of New Year’s resolutions for attitude and self-growth). We phrase it as, “My (age #) is __”.

My 55 is honoring my own process. Your insights and messages, Dawn, dovetail nicely with my journey. Thanks!

Here’s to switching to THRIVAL mode!
