Your Desire to Release your Creative Call will Make a Difference

I have a friend who is a street entertainer. She dresses in outlandish clothing and complements them with equally outlandish make-up. She is a natural entertainer.
She does this for fun. She pops up at random public places. And she gets some paid gigs at community events and gatherings.

Either way she loves it. She is passionate about it. She actually shrivels up creatively if she doesn’t get out and do it. Apart from the theatrics and dress-ups what she is really passionate about is ‘sowing seeds of hope’.

She has created her own mythical ‘Chamber of Blessings’,
a lavishly decorated shopping trolley, and takes it to the streets.

While dressing up and walking around talking to complete strangers is not my thing – I do totally get the buzz she gets from going out and doing what she is passionate about.

I was walking behind her at a flower festival once taking the odd photo and observing her antics. But what struck me was everybody who walked past her started smiling, giggling, chatting or pausing to take a photo. Young and old, men and women – everybody who walked past was effected. Positively!

By doing what she loves and is passionate about
she was making a difference to the day, mood, and life experience of hundreds of people.

And she didn’t even know it. She had no idea about the trail of smiles that flowed and fanned out behind her.

She follows her passion for herself.

It makes her feel good and she simply has to do it.

By releasing that impulse and taking action – showing up – she makes a difference beyond measure.

The moral here is you’ll never know the full impact of how or to whom your passion-project will make a difference.
That is the work and area of the passion released.

Making a start is your most important task. Perhaps someone somewhere in the world is waiting.

Is that a good enough invitation?

So do you have a plan?

Hold on Tightly – Let go Lightly

Hold on Tightly, Let go Lightly I am intrigued by this little quote, especially in the personal and self-development tsunami of quotes that shout out ‘Let Go’. Through that lens it seems contradictory, but I like it. Actually I love it.   I love it because we do at times in life… Read More

Fly!

If I could fly, would I?   Would I find the faith to spread my wings? Would I trust the currents and the winds? Would I know the route to navigate? Would I leave my not-knowing at the gate?   Would I let the skies hold me in their expansive palms? Would I let… Read More

The Seduction of a Winter Solstice

Where I live in the deep south coast of the Great Southern Gondwanaland (aka Aussie – Maate!), winter is slowly swallowing its own shadows, creamy light is barely there and hangs low across the horizon of late afternoon and very early twilights.   Unexpected shafts of sunlight burst through the low slung clouds and… Read More

And the Sky Didn’t Crumble

So I made the decision to be raw and naughty and real. And I made the decision to spill myself out into the arena. I think that can be interpreted as ‘being vulnerable’. And the sky didn’t crumble. And I didn’t get death threats. I didn’t get set upon by boo’s and hate mail… Read More

My Muse told me she’d leave

My wild-wise-woman muse told me that she’d leave if I didn’t pull my finger out and write. It gave me a fright. I thought she was an eternal friend, always at the ready and waiting for me whenever I got the urge to splurge her.   It seems she’s getting ready to pack her bags and… Read More
