Is this a conversation you have with yourself? Everything in my life is fine. Why isn’t that enough?
Who am I to want more? Who am I to want change? Who am I to want adventure, and excitement, or freedom and release?
Who am I to feel unfinished?
Why isn’t what I’ve got, what I’m doing, how I’m living enough anymore? Enough already, enough. It is enough. It is plenty. It is abundant and full. But that’s not what the call is about. I get you.
It’s a yearning. A desire to have a go at being in a desire state, and offering that out. It’s like a final selfish unselfish service to offer to the world. It’s a transition from one of way of living. From the mother, nurturer and community member giving, giving, giving.
To … Where have I gone?
And now where do I want to be going?
What more do I want to get done in my life?
Now at times this mental self questioning drives me nuts. Especially in a world where most people 20years plus espouse
“Be your authentic self”. After a few decades of working, house working, home-making, parenting etc, of course you’re going to be your authentic self, there’s not much room for anything else. You are as authentic as the moment demands.
This mid life transition is more than that ’embrace your authentic self” personal development catch-phrase.
It’s about embracing a whole new stage of life. Making changes. Traversing a transition that you have ever stepped through before. Of course there is a stirring, a calling, some fear, uncertainty and edginess to it. It is new. And for many of us it feels like ‘new’ you. Embrace the change. It’s real.
