Why Your Passion Project Keeps Tugging at Your Heart

mountains-are-beautiful

There was a disturbance in my heart, a voice that spoke there and said, I want, I want, I want!
It happened every afternoon, and when I tried to suppress it it got even stronger.
(Saul Bellow)

Look I could claim to write some sage words of wisdom that tell you why the desire to bring forth your passion project keeps nudging at your heart. But who am I to do that? Really! It’s your heart.

Who am I to suggest that this little seed has been developing for years?

Some may say you were born to do it.

Who am I to suggest that maybe, just maybe, by releasing your passion you are going to fire up others too?

And how would I know that to be human is to be creative; apart from the 100,000’s of years of evidence that suggests we have creatively evolved across time and space to survive and thrive, to communicate and create, what other proof is there?

Furthermore, how could I possibly know that you are a completely unique composition of thoughts, feelings, emotions and experience, and that you have been exposed to millions of different ideas, intrigues and possibilities. I’d just be guessing that. Perhaps this post will remind you: you are unique.

I do know this though, the nudge probably isn’t going to go away.

It might slink off to a corner, or sneak out so somebody else can pick up the passion and go, or get all hissy-fitty and demand your attention when you try to go to sleep, when you wake up, when you’re supposed to be focusing on some other task, or work or activity, when you’re in the shower, on the toilet, in the car, at the park. Get my drift?

That passion-project will sneak right on back in.

Do it (and yourself) a favour – at least get it out of your head and onto some paper.

Let it run free. Let it leap and skip and jump for a bit. No limits.

Then let it rest. Let it catch its breath.
And then wrap a time-elastic passion-project plan around it and take it one passionate step at a time.

So… what is it. What is included in it? What might be included? What is your next step?
You can always get in touch. I love this stuff!

  1. ooohhhhh …. lovely, Dawn.

Love your concepts, and these sparkly gems brought delight and hope to my heart when I read them:

For me, the unsettledness inside feels like shifting, settling, reshaping of the pieces of my passion, ready to be recognized it its beautifully unique artistic form which only I can create, only I can contribute to the mural of life.

    You inspire reflection and action.

    Until the next time …
